The Inspector Hank Difference

Veteran-Led Precision
From My Perspective: As a veteran, I’ve built my career on a foundation of discipline, integrity, and extreme attention to detail. I don’t just walk through your house; I conduct a mission-focused assessment to ensure your safety.
Why It Matters to You: You get an inspector who arrives on time, works systematically, and provides a clear, honest briefing of the home’s condition—no shortcuts, no fluff.

Hands-On Practical Knowledge
From My Perspective: Before becoming an inspector, I spent years doing the actual handy work. I’ve seen what’s behind the drywall and under the floorboards. I don’t just read about code; I’ve lived it.
Why It Matters to You: I can distinguish between a minor cosmetic fix and a structural red flag. My reports don’t just point out problems—they give you the context you need to understand the ‘why’ behind them.

A Neighbor, Not a Franchise
From My Perspective: Inspector Hank is locally owned and operated right here in Austin. I’m not a big-box franchise; I’m your neighbor. My reputation is built on every single home I inspect in our community.
Why It Matters to You: I know exactly what to look for in Austin homes—from moisture and mold issues to seismic readiness. You’re getting an expert who understands our specific climate and local building standard

What You Can Expect from Us

Reports Built and Delivered On-site
During the Inspection, we’ll build your report as we go. We include high resolution pictures and videos, helpful links and websites, as well as our recommendations for repairs. We’ll then review the report with you on a tablet, as well as send it to your email. All of this, before we leave the home!

Thermal Certified
Infrared Thermography (IR) is a technology that allows us to “see” what the human eye cannot. IR detects tiny but crucial differences in temperature throughout a house, including behind the walls, beneath the floors and beyond ceilings. These temperature variations often reveal “invisible” problems such as moisture leaks, missing insulation, faulty electrical equipment, etc. Most of these problems will go undetected in an ordinary visual inspection. Our inspectors can easily and quickly scan the house and pinpoint these concerns, providing clients with additional vital information that competitors simply can’t offer.

Drone Inspections
Although the best way to inspect a roof is by physically walking on it, some roofs aren’t able to be walked on. This may be due to the pitch or height, the weather conditions (snow or ice), or the roofs may be a material like tile that shouldn’t be walked on. Most other Inspectors will then either resort to inspecting from the ground, or just recommending that a third party roofing contractor inspect the roof. Our inspectors are licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration to use small unmanned aircrafts (drones) to get high resolution images of even the hardest to get to roofs.
